The best-selling book, “The Best Service Is No Service”, was written by my colleagues Bill Price and David Jaffe. The phrase is based on Bill’s experience as first global SVP for customer service at Amazon.com in Seattle. Amazon is reknowned for being best at customer experience despite the fact very few people ever have to contact them. On 28th September many who know the book came to hear Peter and Bill at either the 2 public or 2 private sector events that took place in central London.
Hosted at HM Treasury in conjunction with the Cabinet Office, the public sector events demonstrated the appetite of both policy makers and practitioners to remove unnecessary effort for citizens and avoidable costs for the departments. Accompanied by key notes from Ben Jupp (Cabinet Office), Chris Hopson (HMRC) and Derek Hobbs (DVLA) there were some good debates on "Best Service".
Sharing both insights from the book and from the practical processes Budd use, the case experiences that underpin “The Best Service Is No Service”was explored by the private sector events took place in the City, including the Gherkin.
If you don’t have a copy of the book and want to buy one or just want to read more then visit our site at www.budd.uk.com/thebestservice.html . Bill will be visiting again on June 1/2 next year, so get in touch if you want to reserve an early place
